About me
I have had a huge interest in health and well-being for as long as I can remember. I joined the NHS at 18 years old as a Student Radiographer. After qualifying I continued my health obsession, studying for an Advanced Health Care degree followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound leading to my current role as an NHS Sonographer. Meanwhile, completing holistic courses at every opportunity - reflexology, Pilates, nutrition, personal training whilst maintaining my own fitness : running, cycling, gym, hiking, pilates and of course .........Yoga!!
Why Yoga for me?
Literally spending hours of my career studying inside people's bodies is a privilege. It provides a humbling appreciation of our breathtakingly wonderful bodies.
I have heard countless, terribly sad stories of ill-health, conditions, accidents or circumstances that affect mobility and stop people doing the things they enjoy, which led me to my mission to help people restore themselves through yoga.
Almost 30 years after attending my first yoga class I completed my RYT200 teacher training in 2020.My first class via zoom class followed (pandemic days) followed by weekly/monthly in-person community classes. These have evolved and thrived to now with over 100 regular yogis. I have also worked with Burton Albion Community Trust, charities, professional athletes and held sessions for Corporate events and Conferences.
Further training : Specialist Sport's Yoga for Athletes (80 hr) Yin Yoga and Taoism, Yoga therapy for Stress, Burnout, Long Covid and Chronic conditions (60hr), Anatomy and Myofascial Release, Yoga for Cancer.
